Comments: this has been a blackspot for some time. easy pickings for criminals as people take shortcuts home to warehouse units without very good access from any other way in

Comments: I just spoke with the landlord of part of Overbury and Catwalk Place about this, and they own some of the land around that alley. They didn't know about this blackspot, and just told me that they're now going to get some lights fitted, clear some of the tree-line and get some CCTV. Hopefully this should make a big difference to people using this alley

Comments: I used to live at the bottom of this alley. It was also often used as a toilet (apparently still is). I never used it at night as it was too dangerous. This was more than 2 years ago so I am surprised to see that nothing has been done about it yet.

Comments: The area is already pretty dangerous and I know this from experience having had to shout down a scumbag who followed my girlfriend home on her way back from the shops. It's irresponsible of the council to ignore this problem site when during the winter the number of attacks is close to weekly.

Comments: How many incidents have to happen before someone puts a stop to this? I feel that knowing the authorities here in the UK, nothing will be done until someone is murdered here. Why not prevent the happening rather than react to it after the fact.

Comments: I live in the converted warehouses below the alley and use it occasionally to get from the busstop to my house. In addition to the crime aspect the alley is in general fairly unsafe to use because of the condition of the stairs.

Comments: I have been involved in this area for many years - living in Arena Business centre for over 12 years since warehousing living started there. A safe environment for those in this community is surely something all are entitled to - knowing you can journey back to your home safely at all hours. The narrow stair and alley require more than just corner mirrors and CCTV - if it would be possible to expand its space and light through redesigning the route this would probably the most long term solution.
