The Second Chance Coalition Followers The Second Chance Coalition 2009 (1) August (1) Thursday, August 27, 2009 The Second Coalition The Second Chance Coalition The Second Chance Coalition was founded in 2004 as a non-profit community-based organization designed to serve as an advocate for the deserving but voiceless members of our society. Our organization receives requests from individuals and families to review their plight to determine whether we can advocate on their behalf. The Second Chance Coalition now champions the case of Cornelius V. Anderson-McAdoo an inmate a Sing Sing Correctional Facility. Mr. Anderson-McAdoo is currently in the 22nd year of a thirty-three years to life sentence for murder. The victim suffered a heart attack while a teenaged Mr. Anderson-McAdoo committed a robbery. The Second Chance Coalition in no form of fashion condones crime or make justification for crimes committed. We believe that all life is sacred and personal property should be protected. We further believe that no human is perfect and is prone to errors of judgment and wrong behavior particularly adolescent young men and women. Mr. Anderson-McAdoos case is unique in that he was a child when the crime was committed and now at age 40 has reached out to atone to the victims family and is rehabilitated into a potentially productive member of society. Mr. Anderson-McAdoo has gone through various therapies addressing violence and the impact that crime has on families and victims. He has earned his GED, Bachelors Degree and is now working on a Master Degree in Theology for the New York Theological Seminary. He serves as Inmate Pastor at Sing Sing Correctional Facility and counsels other inmates on how to become productive members of society. Mr. Anderson-McAdoo will be an asset to the community and not a liability. His family and community supports the process of his re-entry and adjustment into society. The Second Chance Coalition will petition New York Governor Patterson for a clemency for Mr. Anderson-McAdoo. We will collect signatures and submit with our position paper to request a clemency on the basis that Mr. Anderson-McAdoo has been fully rehabilitated and punished in prison. The Second Chance Coalition requests your support in this effort. If you willing to support us in obtaining a clemency for Mr. Anderson-McAdoo, please contact our web site blogger.com or e-mail your statement of support at mmjeajea47@gmail.com . We want to thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this action. Sincerely, The Second Chance Coalition Chair women Mrs. M.
