Thank God this establishment has been closed down, and I hope that others like it-if they exist- are also closed.Flag

Name: Alison Ryan on Nov 18, 2007Comments: Possibly the most frustrating and infuriating thing about the situation is the fact that ordinary people like myself can do very little to help due to the ignorant political system in place in Bulgaria. The response from the Bulgarian authorities at the end of the programme was sickening: complete denial. It is quite clear that the Bulgarian government is more concerned with publisizing their country's property market around the world than they are with treating their citizens with basic human respet. It is incomprehensible in this day and age that such an inhumane situation exists, especially given that Bulgaria is a member of the European Union.Flag

Name: Lesley Reynolds on Nov 18, 2007Comments: I am absolutely horrified after watching the most distressing programme I have ever seen, the documentary on 'Bulgarias' abandoned children'!! Absolutely heartbreaking!!As a mother I cannot imagine or comprehend how anyone can abandon their child to such a degrading, desperate, lonely, tragic and terrifying life!! I cried the entire way through the programme and feel compelled to try and do something to help!! I could love all those children and it makes you realise what a privileged, insular and materialistic lives most of us lead!!Worrying about the most trivial daily things!!Well done Kate for making us aware of this tragedy I don't know how you found the strength to continue filming calmly over the period without trying to save all those children!Hopefully this documentary has raised enough awareness in the right places to prevent these atrocities continuing and to make goverments answerable for their ignorance and total disregard for human life!!Flag

Name: Kara McCheyne on Nov 18, 2007Comments: I'm finding it hard to describe how I feel after watching this film. What I do know is that this issue should be at the top of the EU agenda and if I can help by sending my feelings or adding my name to anything please let me know. Tonight's programme should have been shown unashamedly on prime time BBC1 as I stumbled across it by chance and, although you would not think it by watching the workers in this film, most people are full of human kindness and would help out in any way they could to stop this abuse. Well done Kate Blewitt and her crew. I hope the Bulgarian care system benifits from the heart and soul you put into this eye opener.Flag

Name: Peter John Stubbs on Nov 18, 2007Comments: 18 November 2007 Dear All Although did not see all of the documentary BULGARIA'S ABANDONED CHILDREN on the above date what I did see found very heartbreaking. Strongly feel people in the UK who are disatisfied with their lives, unfilled, discontent should be forced to see real life such as this. Then I feel that they have no reason/justification when having a reasonably high standard of living. Sincerely Peter Bournemouth DorsetFlag
