Hy, as you may be aware of, Huntingdon life sciences is responsible for countless acts of cruel and horrific “experiments” performed on innocent animals. They are forced to breath in Marijuana fumes (Dogs), Killed for Extremley ignorant reasons, and theyve broken the law about 560 times, (although they mightve broken the law more times). Some examples of these tortures’ experiments are: Use of non-medical and medical products, unidentifiable experimental surgeries, implants of body parts and organs into wild animals, and so forth. Around 70,000 animals are trapped in there, being tested on like their nothing. The people for the ethical treatment of animals (PETA) conducted a private investigation posing as a worker at Huntingdon’s and caught some incriminating evidence, resulting in an unsuccessful law dispute. Animal experimentation is not only wrong and unethical, but its also not necessary. Huntingdon’s could still conduct successful experiments for humans using models of things, yet for some reason they won’t! Huntingdon’s should be shut down, and sued for the awful abuse that has resulted from their actions. Even if were not successful in that then let’s focus our goal unto making their companies USE MODELS! If these actions were performed outside of an experimentation lab then they would be arrested for animal abuse, so why aren’t they being convicted I support research to help cure deseases, but doing it in a way thats painful and unnesesary to the animals is not right. You cant TAKE one life to MAYBE save another. Using models would be a great change there, and will help stop animal experimentation, and lives will still have the same chance of being saved. I feel guilty even resting when I think about what the poor Animals must be going through at Huntingdon’s companies. This horrific torture must end. I want to thank everyone that signs this petiton. References: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huntingdon_Life_Sciences q=huntingdon+life+sciences&form=QB&qs=AS#hy: Is it necessary Some reading may be thinking: Yes, it is necessary, I mean, their just animal’s right” Yes, they may be animals, but what about Dogs inhaling perfume, or pregnant Rabbits Inhaling marijuana, and then being killed for their organs, or what about lab mice being fed high doses of a Japanese vegetable, already shown to be Completely Fine. So now what are you thinking. That those animals could be yours Imagine your household pet. Cute, right. Now imagine him or her on a surgical table, having its organs removed. Sickening, right. If you went on Huntingdon Life Sciences website right now, you’d see it say: Huntingdon Life Sciences: "Ethical Issues – Animals in Scientific Research Scientists have strong ethical, economic and legal obligations to use animals in research only when absolutely necessary. A lot of effort goes into trying to reduce the numbers of animals used, and trying to develop new methods to replace animals. As a result, the number of laboratory animals used annually in the UK has halved in the last 30 years. Non-animal methods - tissue culture, computer modelling, studies of patients and populations - are very widely used. The word alternatives, often used to describe these non-animal methods, can lead to confusion because these methods are generally used alongside animal studies, not instead of them. All these techniques have their place, and it is rarely possible to substitute one for another. Huntingdon has many in vitro techniques available. Why is the use of animals necessary There are stages in any research programme when it is not enough to know how individual molecules, cells or tissues behave. The living body is much more than just a collection of these parts, and the need to understand how they interact or how they are controlled is essential. There are ethical limits to the experiments that we can perform in people, so the only alternative is to use the most suitable animal to study a particular disease or biological function. Supporting Medical Research in the UK The People's Petition gives a voice to the silent majority of people in Britain who want to show their support for medical research using animals in the UK. It's a campaign for people who believe that this research, carried out under stringent animal welfare standards, is essential to the health and quality of life of humans and animals." http://www.huntingdon.com/index.phpcurrentNumber=4¤tIsExpanded=0 So they say they only experiment on animals when it’s absolutely necessary Yeah, sure. Please, sign this petition. Save an animals life.
