Name: Gary Beech on Jul 18, 2006Comments: Good work guys. Some pubs and bars are not allowing smokers to take thier drinks outside when they want to smoke. So why were warnings put out in the media NOT to leave your drink unattended because of the risk to women on the date rape issue regarding the use of drugs being put into unsuspecting peoples drinks.Flag

Name: Jim Blogg on Jul 19, 2006Comments: The U.S. Surgeon General, with his outrageously unscientific piece of propaganda that he calls a "Surgeon General Report", has proven once and for all that he and the rest of the hate mongering, money grabbing anti-tobacco mob can't, after 30 years of trying, prove any negative health effects from SHS. That means the imposed ban is an clear example of tyranny, insanity, and stupidity. Lets get rid of it!!Flag

Name: Colin Grainger on Aug 29, 2006Comments: This smoking ban is baseless. SHS is harmless. The science tells me so. Smoking bans kills people (4 so far) and increases youth smoking rates (see the Irish OTC for confirmation of this) and they kill business, tourism and peoples social lives. I demand a choice. I demand a fair proportion of pubs and clubs with smoking rooms and good ventilation. I demand them now.Flag

Name: George Paterson on Aug 31, 2006Comments: Ill thought out ban, based on lies and pressure from well funded special interest groups. This has nothing to do with protecting non-smokers but a very poorly disguised attempt at social engineering. You are SO wrong Mr McConnell and it will cost you your job. Do your research, enter into debate, listen to the evidence and undo this wrong.Flag

Name: Jim Robinson on Jan 4, 2007Comments: It cost the NHS £1.7 billion to treat smoking-related diseases. The Government collects £10.5 billion in tobacco taxation. What happens to the other £8.8 billion. Also, would the anti-smoking health nazis please explain how they will feel about a HUGE tax increase when all smokers DO give up. After all, the Government will have to replace that £8.8 billion from somewhere else. Once and for all, stop discriminating against smokers - we cost a lot less than we contribute.Flag
