The objective of this petition is to raise awareness of Scottish Forests - and the way they are regulared, controlled, the way industries treat them and what can be done to let them grow. We hope to gain support for the IDEA that Mills and Scottish Forests can both grow - for the benefit of our own environment and the growing paper packaging industries in the UK. Once signatures are recieved, we\'ll send them along with objectives and proposals to the EU, UK and Scottish Parliaments, the Forestry Commission, The European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers, The European Carton Makers Association, The British Carton Association, The The British Food Service Packaging Association and The Confederation of Forest Industries. We will encourage packaging businesses to observe sourcing guidelines, encourage mills to ensure they are sourcing sustained products and pressure Government to help all these industries by subsadising land for planting, grants for new technologies, incentives for communities to encourage preservation and to create a Council where all industries related to the lifecycle of logged products are represented.
