Name: Karen Bradley on Sep 4, 2009Comments: Please keep this post office open. I had to use the Glenville post office on Wednesday and there was a line out the door and service was incredibly slow. What would that be like if all of Scotia had to go there People today with jobs do not have that kind of time. In fact perhaps the reason the post office is not doing well is that it has not kept up with the working world - stay open at least until 6pm, or have one night a week. During the holidays why not extended hours With two car dealers gone and possibly a post office, it leaves little in downtown Scotia.Flag

Name: Alisha Jeffers on Sep 4, 2009Comments: They only have the one branch in Scotia, NY to the best of my knowledge; it would an inconvenience for those patrons to travel to another town/city; I know that not everyone has access to the USPS website to have there packages mailed via the great services that are offered that way. I hope that this branch is not one that the postal service decides needs to close.Flag

Name: Dan Bernard on Sep 5, 2009Comments: Please do not close the Scotia post office. Part of what makes a community viable is that you can walk to the places where you do things. Closing the post office in Scotia would damage the livability of the village, the community feel.Flag

Thank you.Flag

Name: Toni Walsh on Sep 6, 2009Comments: The Post Office, Collins Park, and the Library are essential t o the character of our community. Many village residents have post office boxes . They can pick up their mail by WALKING. Along with its vital service in distributing the mail, the post office is an historic building. The mural on its wall provides a graphic reminder of Scotia and Schenectady history. The post office in every small town and village builds community. Perhaps we have taken it for granted, but we desperately want to keep it open!Flag

Name: Fred Kersten on Sep 6, 2009Comments: The scotia postoffice is a historic building that should not be closed. It is important to many individuals who utilize downtown scotia, especially senior citizens who walk to the post office and do not have the transportation to go up route 50 to get to another branch. Pllease keep the is office open. I use it at least three times a week and there are many other branches that can be closed without the lost that many of us will be effected with.Flag

Name: Pat Kessler on Sep 7, 2009Comments: I have lived in Scotia for most of my life. One of the reasons is the convenience of the post office and other every day services which I can actually walk to. I will be 70 this year and hope to maintain the village environment that has been here since my father was a child.Flag

Name: Ronald Pinkerton on Sep 7, 2009Comments: Scotia is a village which still has a vital main street. With a good number of people, many elderly, who can walk to the grocery store, drug store, library, diners, convenience stores, churches, banks, movie theater and post office; it is still the small town that hs been disappearing in much of America. Please, do not weaken our community. Main Streets have been killed by removing, one by one, the services that people need and use regularly. Please leave the post office.Flag
