I protest the choice of the designation of the Columneetza Campus as the grade 7,8,9 campus and the WL Campus for the grade 10, 11 and 12 students due to the following concerns. They include, but are not limited to: 1)Loss of access to shop classes 2) Loss of access to cafeteria training program 3) Loss of access to on site daycare facility for students with children. There is a greater change that older students would have their own children, and this facility would be lost on younger students. 4) Requirement to take the bus between campuses for to take shop classes, many students will likely not return for following classes, or will be consistently late for the next class; it is already a proven fact that students do not make it to class on time if they bus between schools. 5) The science labs at Columneetza are designed for senior courses 6) Loss of proximity to TRU where many students are cross enrolled in trade and training programs. Williams Lake is a trade oriented town; if access to trades training is lost, meaningful education orientated around the town will be lost 7) The number of full lockers at Columneetza which are designed for older students with large text books and personal belongings for a full day of school plus activities and or work following school...half lockers won't accommodate senior student needs. 8) Though not a serious issue, the history of generations graduating from Columneetza and WLSS would be lost, which would be a loss of William's Lake culture and past.
