Petition - Aim to change the way primary school applications are assessed. Hi, i'm not sure if i'm listing this in the right place however Our local county council do not take into consideration when allocating spaces for primary school admissions, whether or not a child has a sibling at that school. It is still following catchment guidelines that were drawn up before parents sent their children to school near grandparents houses or close to their place of work. It doesn't take into consideration new housing estates that have been built or look at individual circumstances that mean parents have moved their existing child into an out of area school due to bullying/ or other social factors. This has meant that many parents at our school have been unsuccessful in getting a sibling into the same school. If you could spare 2 minutes to complete our official petition i would be most grateful. Thanks Shelly
