To: Carlton Publishing Group, part of Carlton Media International
From: Worldwide Captain Scarlet fans
We, the listed and undersigned, want to first express our appreciation and gratitude to Carlton Books, in response to the Thunderbirds Classic Comic Strips that was released in 2003, which reprints strips of the Thunderbirds and Lady Penelope series from the TV Century 21 magazine, as they appeared in 1965.
Accordingly, we would like to present this on-going petition in response to that book release, and respectfully request the following:
Much in the same way as the previously mentioned book collected reprints of Thunderbirds strips, we would want to see a release of a similar book, collecting reprints of the Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons strips, as they appeared in the TV Century 21, TV 21, TV21 & TV Tornado magazines, between 1967 and 1969. Those strips contain the works of gifted and renowned artists such as Ron Embleton, Mike Noble and Frank Bellamy, only to name the more famous amongst them. Although some of these strips were reprinted in later magazines, the whole set has never been reproduced.
With the continuous airing of the original Captain Scarlet series, as well as the upcoming release of the new computer generated series announced to be aired very soon we are convinced that fans from earlier generations, as well as from later ones will be interested in such a book or series of books compiling the adventures of this ageless hero, and his uninterrupted fight against the Mysterons. The book(s) could also collect strips from the 1967 Angels strips which appeared in the Lady Penelope comic. There has never been a reprint of the entire run of strips since.
In conclusion, we, the listed and undersigned fans of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, many of whom have already bought much of the memorabilia produced over the last few years (DVD, tapes, audio medias, books, magazines, toys and various other kinds of memorabilia), hope that Carlton International, and the people who make such decisions in the Publishing Group, would take this petition into account and consideration, and will see in this written testimony of our loyalty to the series, an opportunity not to be dismissed, and will indeed decide to go ahead with any project in the release of a book to satisfy our request.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
The undersigned,
