| 5 | Anonymous | To all Warner Home Video Executives, I'm a big fan of the "Superboy" TV series and I want to thank you for releasing the first season on DVD. Even though it wasn't very popular with some viewers, I enjoyed it. I bought it on the day it was released. I'm writing to ask you to consider releasing on DVD Seasons 2-4 of the series.
Starting with the show's second season, executive producer Ilya Salkind replaced first-season Superboy actor John Haymes Newton with another actor, Gerard Christopher who is widely considered the better of the two Superboy actors. According to Gerard Christopher, the show went from #48 to #10 at the start of the second season and it went on to become an official hit. Because of the second season's superb writing, dastardly villains, and awesome visuals, the show finally found its voice and it continued for two more seasons. Those two seasons (Seasons 3 and 4) are referred to as "The Adventures of Superboy."
Widely regarded as the best seasons of the show, the third and fourth seasons are a step up in quality from the mega-hit second season. Seasons 3 and 4 have a dark film-noir tone that was heavily influenced by Tim Burton's "Batman" and also by the first season of "The Adventures of Superman" which also has a film-noir tone. All of the changes that took place during Seasons 2-4 of "Superboy" were definitely for the better.
It would mean so much to each and every "Superboy" fan in the world if you would release Seasons 2-4 of the series on DVD. Those remaining DVD season sets will be huge hits for your Home Video Department and the sets will also be bought by people who've never even heard of the "Superboy " TV series.
I'm looking forward to purchasing the remaining seasons of "Superboy" on DVD. No Superman DVD collection is complete without them. To all Warner Home Video executives, thank you again. |
