Name: Wynter Cato on Jun 4, 2009Comments: Please VETO SB1440 as it will take away more parental rights. Also, did we not see the need for limiting the power of CPS when they removed so many children from the FLDS, I do not agree with the FLDS lifestyle but we are still in Texas and our parental rights should be ensured. Where has common sense gone toFlag

Name: Amy Pope on Jun 4, 2009Comments: Please Veto SB 1440, which would allow CPS to enter homes, take children, subject them to interviews and investigations without a court hearing or notice to the parent or even showing good cause. This bill just opens the door to more abuses by CPS. Please veto SB 1440 to protect the fundamental right of parents to guide and care for their childrenFlag

Name: Mary Gilliland on Jun 7, 2009Comments: Please Veto SB 1440, for the sake of our children and families. CPS should not be allowed absolute power, they need checks and balances outside their agency just like every other organization. Thank you.Flag

Name: Valerie Cox on Jun 8, 2009Comments: I do not agree with increasing the power of CPS. The goal of CPS has been to keep children in their homes if at all possible. Children are not "saved" by removing from their homes. These children are often more emotionally damaged than before the involvement of CPS. CPS needs to work WITH parents, not against them. We cannot take away the rights of parents.Flag
