Wescott Acres is a subsidized housing complex that has been proposed to be built at the intersections of Bush River Road and Wescott Road. Although this project is currently being built for seniors, it is subsidized housing. Once subsidized housing is established it is possible that in time, the makeup of the residents could change. This property would be zoned for Nursery Road Elementary School. NRES currently serves two other large low income housing complexes. Our administration, teachers and parents have worked diligently to maintain the excellent quality of education at NRE, despite rising class sizes, and a dramatic increase in the needs of the changing student population. We have a wonderfully diverse population, and this year made AYP while in corrective action. Our school simply cannot absorbed another low income housing unit.
