Name: David Wollstadt on Dec 19, 2009Town: Old TownComments: Even without the public option and the Medicare buy-in, this bill is an abomination. At least I think it is--and I have to say that because no one outside Sen. Reid's office has seen it. I don't think a bill, as such--with a text that one could read and react to--exists. The biggest problem with health care is that costs keep rising. The Reidcare/Obamacare approach does nothing to solve that problem--instead, it exacerbates that problem.Flag

Name: Timothy McFadden on Dec 19, 2009Town: DamariscottaComments: This is not a bill any fiscally responsible republican can support. I am a member of the Damariscotta Republican Club, and the feeling among the group is that if either of our senators vote for this bill the members will work actively to change representation at all levels of Main's Republican Party. Stop this madness and vote NO on this health care bill.Flag

Name: George & Chris Rothweiler on Dec 19, 2009Town: FalmouthComments: We believe this legislative process full of secrecy and bills that no one has read or truely understands will not end well for those of us who will have to pay for this folly. If the Senate is proud of the legislation, pass it in increments in the light of day to the fanfair of the voters. I know you will do the right thing. Merry Christmas, George & Chris RothweilerFlag

Name: Lynda Brearey on Dec 19, 2009Town: Cape ElizabethComments: Please do not let our citizens down. This health care reform has not been thought out and optimize later is not a good option. Our seniors need protection. We need to reorganize the infrastructure as it is...not tear it down and start again. First find and fix the fraud in the exisiting Medicare. Next address the outlandish costs the providers must pay for malproactice insurance thereby ending needless testing..and inflated costs. Address pre-exisitng conditions...work with the insurance companies to improve. Stop the Bureau of Insurance from adding mandates that just increase costs. Create cafeteria plans whereby people choose their coverage..Most important create plans that allow for the purchase of catastrophic costs only. No coverage for ILLEGAL aliens...no social security for ILLEGAL aliens...DO NOT dillute Medicare any more than it already is. Make pharmaceutical companies accountable. There are many piece that must be corrected before starting yet another mess.Flag

Kill the current bill and start a slower more deliberate bill that includes both parties and fewer changes in the beginning.Flag

Name: Deborah Darling on Dec 19, 2009Town: holdenComments: Please please do not pass any health care bill that will be manadory for all US citizens. I can' t help but think this type of bill will only cost the american people more money with legal fees to flight this in the court system. Because it most definately will have a suit against for being unconstitutional. It is not neccesary to pass health care just for the sake of "saying you passed a health care bill". You people need to get one that will be useful for the people of America. You are ther for us and we are the ones to remove you also. Let's get it right not just done.Flag
