Name: Alden G Thayer on Dec 18, 2009Town: GorhamComments: We simply can not afford the plan and we don't need the Gov dictating our health care with their intrusion. If this bill passes, China will own us forever. Who knows what other goodies are included in that stack of nonsense. The current administration has made a mockery of our great country. They need to re-visit... what has made this country the force that it is ( the people). What is the rush on the bill? The BS needs to stop. Sorry for the rant ( not really), I am busy carrying the country on my back, by proudly running a small business i.e. employing people and paying taxes, like millions of others who know what really makes this nation tick.Flag

Name: Rick Dugal on Dec 18, 2009Town: FairfieldComments: We do not need ANY new taxes. It should not be the government's responsibility to take care of everyone. Our founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew the role government thinks they need to play in our lives. It's time to say ENOUGH to the handouts, and let people take ownership of their lives.Flag

Name: Peter Kledaras on Dec 18, 2009Town: FalmouthComments: The Federal government has already boldly over-reached. This is an act of violence upon the American people. You have already dumbed down many of our people over the past century through a sad dependency on the part of many Americans and Mainers. Do not now force the rest of us to completely depend on the government for our lives, a lick of liberty, and an entitlement to happiness.Flag

Name: Jerry Bono on Dec 18, 2009Town: NorridgewockComments: I'll be 65 in two years and what will I do if Medicare is gutted by half a trillion dollars? I'm not made of money and neither is anyone I know so please put a stop to this insanity concerning health insurance. Pass a series of bills that first allow competition across all state lines and force insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions. Competition will drive prices downward and after a reasonable period of time if it doesn't then consider legislation to rein in the insurance companies. Thank you, Jerry BonoFlag

Name: Robert L. Davis on Dec 18, 2009Town: North YarmouthComments: The national government is already undercutting our tradition of individual liberty. The healthcare bill only contributes to this. Too much political and economic power is being concentrated in Washington, as evidenced by the home mortgage and financial fiascoes. Creating dependency on government is not the path to liberty.Flag

You just can't STOP SPENDING SOMEONE ELSE'S MONEY!! Why in the world would congress think that Americans want the government to control health care when you can't even pay the bills that you have now? If you can't answer this question honestly, then how can you justify spending TRILLIONS of dollars that you have not earned.Flag

The health care bill is a mess, the Cap& Trade bill will create a huge tax burden and stress small businesses to the breaking point and the Imigration amnesty bill will finish the job as well as the stupidity on display at the Copenhagen summet. Be advised that all who support these bills& treaties will do so at the peril of their political careers.Flag
