Name: Karen J Price on Nov 5, 2012Comments: I vehemently oppose the concept of a QuikTrip convenience store being built at the corner of Sutton Road and Rt160 adjacent to Baxter Village. This development is not in line with what Clear Springs advertises and contends to be doing as part of a carefully planned development with community at its center. We are a community of front porches, walking trails, pocket parks, children playing, and small businesses supported by those who live in this community. We should NOT be a community of 24 hour convenience stores, but rather small family businesses and general stores. We have enough gas stations and convenience stores! This development will undoubtedly bring a high noise level, increased congestion from traffic, large amount of lighting shining into residential homes' backyards all night long, more large tanker trucks using Sutton Road for travel, and will likely attract more people late at night to property adjacent residential homes. The fact that they seek to decrease the buffer and decrease plantings also goes against the planned community feel of Baxter. Clear Springs touts a pedestrian oriented family-friendly community and I simply find it appalling that a convenience store of this nature is considered as fitting within that "plan".Address: 2619 Nations Commons St, Fort Mill, SC 29708Flag

Its location in proximity to church, large residential community with families does not fit in. The area, featured as one of the most desirable places to live in America, slowly turning into a quick-gas-$1-hot-dog stand, and it seems not to bother Clear Springs Development which obviously implements a famous Louis XIV "After Me, the flood!" saying in its actions. Our protest also goes to York county zoning administration, which has allowed to place as many gas stations in Fort Mill area, as there are mushrooms in the woods.
