Forestdale Primary School is a small local community school normally admitting 1 class (30 pupils) per year. The proposal is to expand the school to two-form entry over a period of years so that by 2019 the school would have an extra 210 pupils in total, effectively doubling the size of the school.
Please sign this petition appealing to the Cabinet Member and Executive Director for Children, Schools and Learning to reconsider the proposed expansion and keep the school as it is.
In summary, doubling the size of Forestdale Primary School will directly impact the local community and environment including the disruption of on-going construction work. There will be more noise. It will take away green space. There will be more traffic and less parking (of which there is already a huge problem) and more pollution.
We, the signed, say NO to the expansion of Forestdale Primary School.

Grace Onions, United Kingdom2 years ago Comments: Please reconsider increasing the size of this school. There are many potential negatve impacts on the local residents and environment as indicated in the letter.
Mrs Zoe Clarkson, United Kingdom2 years ago Comments: The proposal will not benefit local children, but is an quick fix for the council's problem of children in the NORTH of the borough needing school places thus asking children to travel across the borough to a non local school.
