Dear Neighbors and Citizens of Prince George’s County,

As you may know, Prince George’s County is considering whether or not to allow rezoning of the Cafritz property, located near Route 1 and Van Buren St., which would permit many apartments, stores and parking spaces. At present, the property is trees and woodland, certainly home to many animals. If the trees were to be cut down, many of these animals would lose their homes and have nowhere to go.

Stop and think of how many trees on Earth mankind has already cut down. We have destroyed beautiful and natural habitats--then think of whether or not you are in favor of starting this project. Apartments, stores and Whole Foods do not have to be built on the Cafritz property. In fact, Whole Foods could easily go at the College Park or Prince George’s Plaza Metro areas, where the development would be able to accommodate a grocery store. The environment would not be harmed.

Right now it is important to preserve our natural resources and keep our planet alive and beautiful. I may only be twelve years old, but I urge you to say “NO” to Whole Foods’ assault on our last piece of woodland. Let’s keep Earth a good place to live!
