Signing this petition shows that you are NOT in favor of the new school for the poor "DSBN ACADEMY" due to open September 2011. A school where poor students will attend in hopes that they will continue onto College or University. It is only available to students who's parents have not attended College or University and have at or below provincial grades. Do the poor need to be separated from their peers in order to reach these goals? Shouldn't our tax payer dollars be put into existing schools that are in need? Would this school take away from existing schools? Many questions have been raised, most importantly how will this type of segregation impact the children who attend? The future is about our children, standing together makes a difference...separating and standing alone will get you no where.
