Say No To Liverpool Care Pathway

The experiences of Rusty Lee and the revelations of Peter Stamford of The Daily Telegraph have established that The Liverpool Care Pathway is being used at some hospitals to euthanase elderly, fragile patients in order to free their beds and reduce the numbers of geriatric patients.  In effect, it has become euthanasia by the back door without public debate or pariliamentary legislation.  It is MURDER, and those responsible should be held to account for each and every one.  Join me to have this abomination scrapped.

2 years ago Comments: My mother was put in the respite ward of Moseley Hall Hospital in Birmingham for one week's respite whilst I took a much needed break from caring. She was not ill on admission, she has dementia but is other wise fine and most definitely does not want to die. I was rung up on the evening before she was due to come home saying they were not going to send her home because she was dying. I was furious! This was done without my consent. I have Power of Attorney for her health, I fought tooth and nail to get her home, she arrived home thin and the colour of pastry and heavily sedated. I am disgusted that I can no longer trust this respite ward, what they were doing was murder. Since getting home she has eaten and drunk and is gradually coming out of the drug haze. She said she was sorry and believes the hospital was trying to punish her for things she had done wrong, not that she ever has done anything wrong. Doctors are now becoming little more than filth with no morals and no decency and are demeaning their profession as are the politicians who are sanctioning this murder of the vulnerable..
