Comments: Please do not pass this proposal in its current form. Extremely detrimental to the average hard working homeowner.

Comments: This is a ridiculous proposition and yet again goes to penalise workers who work hard and struggle to buy a house. Stopping paying such high sums to people on benefits and getting people on benefits back to work would be a far better way to save money. Some of us workers live off less then people on benefits. Without loosing my MTR, I can't afford to heat my house. I have nothing else to cut back on and would have to consider selling my house!

Comments: I am a working Mum who has already got to pay large sums of money out in nursery fees so I can pay taxes and contribute to society- please don't add this extra burden to our household. It's just another kick in the teeth for those of us trying to provide for our family ourselves.

Comments: Even if your objective is OK, you need to phase this out over say 25 years and leave anyone who has a mortgage before the scheme closes to new entrants with the MITR until the end of their mortgage. Otherwise you end up with punitive escalating tax bills for many with all the adverse consequences that will have for many hardworking people. And renters beware - this proposal will hurt you and mortgage holders in the pocket too. I am yet to identify who the winners will be especially as they will not decide for more than a year (after the tax redview) how to spend the money. Transparency, ehh?

Comments: He has 2 backtrack on this ridiculous proposal! How can any1 with a mortgage be expected 2 not have tax relief? This could make the difference between some1 working and saving 2 try 2 buy their own property, or never even being able 2 affoft 2 get on2 the local housing ladder, especially young first time buyers, Does he really want 2 drive them in2 only ever being in the rental sector, or worse still, out of the island!?
