Comments: Ridiculous idea. People struggle to buy houses as it is, why make it even harder?!

Comments: This proposal Is ridiculous. My wife and I work incredibly hard to keep a roof over ours and our 2 young children's heads and provide everything for them that goes with it. We are taxed heavily in ever aspect of our lives and receive very little back for it. This proposal will take away the last thing we have that makes life fractionally better. We will be left with nothing! If this is passed we will be left with 2 options. 1) my wife will leave island employment and sign on as the benefits will be worth more if she is unemployed or 2) sell up and move our family off the island to somewhere that actually looks after its hard working population.

Comments: Very ill informed simplistic out proposals, with long reaching social and financial implications for the whole community, thrust on us by those that it will not affect.

Comments: GSP should plough his energy into getting workshy scroungers off their a***s and out to work for a living. The benefit system is long overdue a complete overhaul.

Comments: I feel really sad for the hard working, true local people and their youngsters that want to stay in Guernsey close to their family and friends but can't afford to because of unbelievable rising costs here. We are all struggling here and most of us are already working two jobs. The Tax relief we get here is the only plus to the otherwise very high cost of living! Just getting on the property ladder is nearly an impossibility. Please please listen to the people of Guernsey it is so important that our options are heard. I understand that the costs are rising everywhere in the world and times are hard but I think costs in Guernsey are exceptional so please let us keep this one allowance, we need to give families and youngsters who love Guernsey as much of as chance as possible to stay where they belong.

Comments: Too big a change, too much, too soon. It should be part of a broader review of tax system. We need to promote capitalism without greed.

Comments: If we are to encourage local graduates like myself back to the Island, this will deter them from choosing that route, when property and living in general is so costly in Guernsey. This extends to all households on a low budget who rely on this relief as one of the small reductions they can recieve.

Comments: They took away relief on life assurance and pensions. It is the States that have lost all our money, surely they can't take this away as well - it is about time the States did something themselves to compensate the locals for being such a bunch of idiots.
