Install Traffic Control Devices at Sawgrass Bay

The petition

We, the undersigned, believe that a very dangerous situation exists in South Lake County, Florida. School buses carrying up to 60 elementary school students must make a left turn every afternoon, exiting out of the Sawgrass Bay development. Buses must cross over the northbound lanes and then enter the southbound lanes with high speed traffic in both directions. Traffic control devices are needed at this intersection to allow the buses to fully make the left turn without being jeopardized by oncoming traffic in both directions and being stuck in the middle with part of the buses exposed to such traffic.

We request that the State of Florida Dept of Transportation and the political leaders of the state and Lake County install traffic lights regardless of whether the regulations that determine need and timing are fully met.
