Hello I am with America's dog Rescue and about 6 months back I addopted a dog from another local rescue, the adopter prior to me had returned her to this rescue I got her from for getting loose from a child and knocking over an old lady.. And so they returned her.. So then I was called up asking if Me ,my Husband and 2 kids would take her in. So I told her I would cause I had interest in her before but she had been adopted out.. She has been doing fine this whole time Ive took her to an events once as an ambass-a-bull she did great.. shes always been great with the kids and other dogs and cats..She does play alittle rough but shes only 1 year old so this is normal but I do control her to an extent as far as being rough.. I as a rescue took in a 17 week old unaltered male 5 days ago and 3 days ago took in 1 male and 1 female unalterd dogs all have apt the 2-23-2012 .. Its been said that in some cases that stress from new animails might cause stress and exspeicaly unaltered animails new to the home.. The new dogs have been seperated from the rest of the pack, the female that I adopted has shown nothing but pure excitment from the new smells of the new dogs.. Today around 7pm I had left the room, the kids and 2 dogs one being the adopted female with another female friend of hers.I went to check 2 of the other dogs in another room and change cloths.. I heard screaming, and imidiatly rushed in the living room to see the problem.. The adopted female and my 8 year old son were sitting on the sofa together and he simply reached over to pet the dog and she lunged at his face.. This ive been told is a correction bite he was doing nothing to be corrected for just petting her.. Some may say that I havent let him do all the trainiing and that its all my fault that she dont know her place in the pack.. I believe as with any breed , that she was simply not properly kid tested and dosnt have the patiances for small children.. The rescue that she came from is giving here very few choices, I did hand her back over to her for the safty of my family and my children .. The rescuer is A either going to try the 2 souces she has to give her sacuary or B have her euthanized.. I do not agree with her bing euthanized, shes a great dog she just wasn't great with our family, with our meet and greet the kids were not presant and it was a fast 20 min transation. There was no home viset nore a vet referance done for my approval, even though I would passed with flying colors thats not the point.. She knew when the dog was placed with me I would be pulling other dogs, and she said pull as you want just make sure you get your hand on the dogs first, and that I have honored.. I have asked for guidance as she is a well known rescue lady and 5 out of 10 times she can't be reached for help I might need.. I need honest opinions and help proving that the female adopted dog should not be euthanized and should be placed with a home with no children or other animails to be safe and a person with lots of knowledge of the breed.. I will not have this all come down on my rescue nore the breed, I am here for the breedand educating the public, and I will do all I can to save this girl..
