Please help to save the track bed for the old Corringham Light Railway which is located behind Pegasus Sports Field, Corringham Essex. I want to clear the site of overgrown trees and bracken and turn the area into a nature trail come walk and cycle way of which the CLR track was used for when the line was still in use. I would like to see the children of Herd Lane School visit the area and have the teachers hold lessons here learning about the track itself and have a historian talk to the children about the line. I would like to have picnic tables placed along the track bed at certain locations especially where the area opens out from the trees and heads down onto the marshes. I also want to clear the area around the old Ironlatch Crossing on the old 1925 Manorway. I have contacted Herd Lane School, Pegasus Club and Pricewaterhouse-Cooper about my plans to clear the site and make it a walkway for the Corringham community to get involve in looking after. I plan to have an area where a few sleepers can be laid down exactly where the original sleepers were placed too.
