Name: Sarina Bloodgood on Oct 1, 2012Comments: I transferred out of this program, but still am an avid supporter and still listen when I visit home. Mass Media is a growing field. Of course the government will fund programs that support gas drilling at the school, but no one wants to support Communications programs. Radio has been and will always be a solid medium for news, music, and entertainment. It would be terribly sad to see a lot of peoples hard work at this place go down the drain after all these years.Flag

Name: Jill K. Wollet on Oct 2, 2012Comments: It's more than the music: College radio, and WPTC-FM in particular, is about dedication, discipline, team work and being part of the campus and local community. One of the keys to a well rounded college education is to make the most of every opportunity. Much applause and thanks to the faculty, students, alumni, and VOLUNTEERS for accepting the challenge that WPTC presents, and doing the job with love and professionalism. Keep this radio station On The Air!Flag

Name: Jacob Haun on Oct 3, 2012Comments: I can speak from experience in saying a college radio station is a valuable place to learn and an important part of a college campus. I think it would be upsetting if a student who wanted to take radio could not do so because this opportunity was taken away. Save WPTC. Jacob Haun Station Manager- KDMC Cape Girardeau, MOFlag

Name: Bernie Oravec on Oct 3, 2012Comments: The Williamsport Sun-Gazette is a supporter of WPTC 88.1 and would love to see it continue beyond next spring. Music by all artists, not following national pop trends.....but allowing listeners to discover many new types of music and musicians for the first time. College radio is the closest thing we have to format free music in America. Let's work to keep it alive.Flag

Name: Jeffrey Corcelius on Oct 4, 2012Comments: As a Penn College Alumni it saddens me that the school would choose to shut down such a great program. I know they school is turning away from that area of education but this is a great club and a great asset for any school. I know the school is trying to streamline and cut back to move the money in new direction of education but this radio station is why I chose to go to school at Penn College. It's why I choose to support Penn College today. Loose the station loose my support.Flag

Name: Nichole Grove on Oct 4, 2012Comments: I have a degree in Mass Comm and another in Broadcast Comm from Penn College. WPTC shaped my education and was an experience I will never forget. After college, I returned to WPTC as a volunteer, creating a radio show that reached all corners of the earth, via internet stream, and had the opportunity to work with one of the most infamous TV shows of all time, LOST because WPTC gave me the avenue to do so. PLEASE keep this creative outlet alive! Losing the Mass Comm program is devastation enough - why not keep the opportunity for students to expand their creativity by keeping college radio on the air? My life has been forever changed by the time I spent with college radio.Flag

While I understand the budget issues, I feel closing down the station is taking away a form of art and creativity for the current and future students.Flag
