SAVE WORTHEN POST OFFICE

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - THANKS TO ALL WHO SIGNED

THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION ENDS ON 9TH JUNE - A DECISION SHOULD BE MADE 3-4 WEEKS LATER

PETITION TEXT WAS AS FOLLOWS:

The post office in Worthen is facing closure as the Government and the Post Office push ahead with their plan to close around 2,500 post offices around the country.

We believe that Worthen Post Office provides a vital community service and that it would be wrong to close such a vital facility.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government and Post Office Ltd to stop the unnecessary closure of this branch. We believe the decision to close Worthen Post Office is based on incorrect data and the alternatives are unacceptable.

The deadline for completing this petition was 31st May 2008.

NB Letters are more important than petitions in the fight to save Worthen Post Office - so please after signing, make sure you also send a letter objecting to the closure - see the campaign website for ideas and where to send your letters.
