If I had my deepest wish, Winslow would stay exactly as it is and as beautiful as it is.Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

Name: Sarah Lane on Apr 19, 2007Comments: I am also opposed to the absence of tree preservation and aquifer protection measures in the plan. It seems that today when we know that global warming is real we should be preparing our community and downtown core by emphasizing open space preservation, tree protection, a reduction in impermeable surfaces, and green construction. We should be saving money into an emergency fund. Why on earth are we more concerned about attracting new businesses to the downtown coreDo you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

Name: Sally Adams on Apr 19, 2007Comments: Too much is at stake to move so fast. Once we upzone, there's no turning back. How about putting the $$ into solving infrastructure/quality of life problems first, including parking, public transportation (shuttles every 15 minutes!), affordable housing (city buys/leases land & affordable housing gets built side-by-side with open space!), water study that shows what population can be supported, etc., etc.... Much is required before we upzone our downtown forever -- for the benefit of whomDo you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

There is no love of bland metropolitan city 'WANNA BEs'. Can anyone find ANY charm or warmth in the new planDo you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

Name: Jerry George on Apr 19, 2007Comments: I'm looking forward to the day when all of Winslow Way is owned cooperatively. That would be sometime after the coming global pop of the paper asset and real estate bubbles and the ensuing depression. For now the prospect of tall, ugly buildings on Winslow Way is little more than a sick joke.Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

I am very much opposed to five-story buildings on Winslow Way; however, I am equally opposed to some other development friendly visions of Winslow Tomorrow.....mainly the massive overcrossing that is planned above the highway/ravine.Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

Allowing 5-story buildings along Winslow Way is not a solution that balances our need for growth with our need to preserve and enhance what makes our community hub unique.Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow:Flag

Name: Thomas Hume on Apr 21, 2007Comments: The appalling ugliness of the proposed plan suggests utter vacuity on the part of the planners of any consideration for the people currently living here on Bainbridge. Development of this sort represents a lethal hemmorhaging of a scale and style of living those of us who have lived here for any length of time have come to cherish. Please don't develop this island to death!Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag

Name: Brandi Hunt on Apr 22, 2007Comments: I believe that we can accomadate growth in the Winslow area without sacrificing the character of Winslow Way our main street. I also believe that not incorportating the entire square of Winslow Way, Erickson, Madison, and High School Road in planning for future growth is very short sided. It seems Winslow Tomorrow just forgets about High School Road when planning and character come in to play when any one who lives on the island knows that our retail core includes all four of these streets and does not end on Winslow Way.Do you believe that there must be an Island-wide vote on Winslow Tomorrow: 01Flag
