Comments: There are enough problems in the area with Wickham Club. It is imperative that no more affordable housing projects be allowed in close proximity to Wickham Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Comments: I am a senior citizen living alone across the street from the current apartment complex. Having another complex only serves to make me feel less safe and secure in a home that I've resided in for the last 17 years. The traffic congestion on Wickham Road is such that it takes a good deal of time to exit my subdivision onto Wickham Road. The willingness of the City Council to allow this uncontained growth without any concern to the traffic flow on Wickham Road is an indication of what little concern they have for the residents and families having to travel that road to get to school and work.

Comments: I believe we do not need another housing facility in this general area. It is becoming overcrowded with crime and traffic secondarily increasing due to the excess.

Comments: please stop construction of the property at the corner of Parkway and Wickham. Wickham Road is overcrowded and can not afford another 1000 cars daily.

Comments: I oppose the site plan approval (SP-2007-19) for Parkway Place Apartments since it is not compatible with the surrounding area. The Richmond Group is planning to build a large low-income apartment project that is larger than the existing low-income apartments already built directly next door. This increased density is not compatible with the homes and community in the Wickham Park/Lake Washington Area. This area already has more than its fair share of low-income housing.

Comments: Just look at Orlando for an example of what not to do. They embraced the tourism industry; adding in a high percentage of low income jobs. While it expanded the power base for politicians, it invited the criminal elements that accompany high densities of low-income workers to set up shop in the Orlando area. Now, areas where we could once safely leave our doors unlocked, have become nests of criminal activities rivalling the worst areas of even the larger cities such as NY and LA. If we don't want the area arround Wickham Park to be come the equivalent of Orlando's "Crime Hills", then we need to stop this development.

Comments: One low income, subsidized apartment complex in this area is enough. If it was an age 55+ complex, that might not contribute to the crime levels that seem to exist in that area now.

Comments: We have dodged bullets, had our home vandalized, and have seen first hand exactly what Wickham Club has brought to the neighborhood. We DO NOT need yet another project such as this. Come on City Council, step up to the plate and realize what these type projects are doing to our beautiful city. Another consideration: The current affordable housing projects are far from filled to capacity. There is no need for yet another unless there are waiting lists for the existing projects.

Comments: Please DO NOT approve construction of yet another Melboune Florida eye sore. The City of Melboune has already done its fair share of support for low-income and section 8 subsidized housing. However enough is enough, city resources are already strained to their limits and as a result the current low-income and section 8 housing areas have seen increases in crime and other incidents that bleed city resources. The overall impact results in falling housing values on tax paying citizens.

Comments: Please DO NOT approve construction of subsidized housing near Wickham Park. You would be inviting persons to move to this area who will be utilizing already marginal city resources without contributing anything. We selected our home in this area because of the predominance of middle and uppper middle class single family homes in the area. You would be importing these low income or no income individuals from outside the area; increasing our crime rate, and diminishing our property values.

Comments: We, who live in the Wickham Park area have enjoyed quiet neighborhoods for a numner of years but over the past two years the crime and police calls have increeased by a factor of 3. The only change during this time frame is the low cost housing at Wickham Club Apartments. Now the city councel is trying to make a decision whether to allow another such apartment development to be built. You people need to read the tea leaves and make the right decision for the good of the established housing areas. We don,t want nor need more crime in our areas.

Comments: This Melbourne community has always had a good quality of life and has gone down hill since the Wickham Apartments were built and will only get worse if this type of housing is permitted to be built. I do not want to live in an area like Miami Florida with bars on the windows to protect our lives!
