Name: Rick Kilburn on Aug 5, 2011Zip/Postal Code: 01721Comments: This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard since the rest of the Hospital was demolished. The fact that this is even a possibility is a travesty in of itself, and it's pathetic to see how unimportant the State's own HISTORY is to the Governmental bodies of Massachusetts.Flag

Name: Jeanice Sherman on Aug 8, 2011Zip/Postal Code: 01609Comments: I am expressing my concern about the historic Clock Tower in Worcester. The State should do all it can to protect this important structure. There need to be immediate plans for stabilization and also a long-term plan for private development or public use. We cannot be short-sighted and allow the building to be demolished. It is too important to Worcester residents. We urge you to do all you can to require the state of Massachusetts to direct Division of Capital Asset Management and the Department of Mental Health to market this important historical and architectural structure to potential buyers for rehabilitation and compatible reuse.Flag

Name: Matthew Hopewell on Aug 9, 2011Zip/Postal Code: 01583Comments: A fevered full moon folds itself over a coy smile under cloud cover the Bats flutter around the tower; the Sanitarium is silent. Beauteous is the display (albeit macabre) the splendor of mad minds long departed many moons past since the bats flew in belfries like that of my great-great-granddad. It was on the North Pole Where cars traversed ice bergs Music played on (full moons fevered) I saw myself amidst the fog and you you were not present now you are here madness moonlight bell-towers bats questions that go unanswered obscured maybe by cloud cover or Arctic fog its undeniable this feeling of heredity cool winds arm hairs bristled neck tingling it's unusually cool for a summer night. soon all this will be gone by the time the clouds dissipate the moon will reveal tears fragrant as the years that roll away as though they were bats coming home to rest God I wish you and I had stolen that boat we could've followed the moon undid what is done live in Arctic night Never see the sun far from the tower they're tearing down we could drown and no-one would know Bats have to find a new home fevers subside as the sun begins to rise it's time to retire Early tomorrow morning we'll try again.Flag
