Name: Rita Contois on May 29, 2007Comments: The bindery is necessary for the ongoing upkeep of the books. Otherwise we would lose many more books to damage. It would be wasteful.Flag

Name: Arash Masoumi on May 29, 2007Comments: I think it is important to consider saving the heritage services of this institution perhaps more seriously. VPL's bindery is not only a service, it is a symbol of years of dedication to the public and a tie to the institution's past. Please help carry it forward through the present and for our children into the future.Flag

Name: David Sheldon on May 29, 2007Comments: Given that VPL has one of the largest print collections in Canada and is ostensibly the "resource" library for public libraries in the province, it seems reasonable that the maintenance of this public resource warrants an in-house bindery in the interests of quality (premised on rapid, in-house communications) and speed of delivery. I hope the board of VPL will take a 'go-slow' approach to this issue before it makes any irreversible decisions.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 18, 2007Comments: I am extremely disappointed in the Board's decision to close the VPL binder. In a time of environment awareness, I think it is foolish. I urge the VPL Library Board to reconsider. We should not be out-sourcing a service which is capable of providing libraries throughout the province with conservation services.Flag
