Dear Ms. Brautigam and Boulder City Council, I oppose your proposal to ban outside alcohol at the Boulder Reservoir 4th of July Celebration. The monopolization of alcohol sales to a single vendor, who is selected solely by the City, directly affects the business of local liquor stores and violates the unity and freedom of choice associated with our nation's Independence Day. The parks of the City of Boulder are paid for by the taxpayers, and therefore, those taxpayers should have a say in the policies that affect those parks. By avoiding any input from the public and the Boulder businesses that will be affected by these policies.
