Comments: pitbulls commonly have a better disposition than golden retrievers, and have proved this in behavior tests frequently.

Comments: I have had Two Pit bulls in my life and one, (now gone)was the best dog I ever had. Loving and loyal. wouldn't hurt a baby. and the one I have now is also a loving great dog. not mean at all. they are wonderful dogs. any dogs can be trained to be mean. that is why the police use german shepards. they are highly intelligent and can be trained to attack.

Comments: I own 2 american pitbulls myself, both of which allow people to come in and out of my house with my approval without conciquence to person. Its all about how they are raised, not the type of breed they are. My father use to be dead set against pitbulls until I got mine. Now he wants to take my dog and keep him for his own pet. People need true education on the breed, not news coverage from shitty reporters.

Comments: I once was very scared of pitbulls. The thought of even being near one use to send chlils down my spine. This was the way I felt until I was actually introduced to several members of the breed and I was very surprised. They were not only loving animals, but they were protective, caring, and playful. My four year old and two year old played with my brothers pit all the time and not once did he turn on my children. The thing that amazed me the most about this animal was that he came from a set of owners that made him fight. When my brother becamee his owner he was cared for and he became one of the most friendly animals I have ever known. Not long after this I visited a couple who were breeders and saw their pits, all of whom were well tempered and cared for. The problem here is with the breeders and not the animals themselves. The problem with pits also is the inbreeding of the species. This is what needs to stop. I hope this means something coming from someone who was once scared of this breed of dog and is now a proud owner and lover of the breed.

Comments: I've lived with pitbulls in a household with small children and other pets, and they were the most caring dogs you'd ever meet. I've also seen cute fluffy lapdogs attack someone's leg and break the skin! It truly is all in how you raise your dog no matter what breed.

Comments: I have a 4 year old male pitbull Pacino, and I have raised him since birth. He has never acted harshly to any human are any other dogs at that manner. They are what you raise them. Ban pits than you must ban the chows, rocks, german shepards, etc it would only be fair as they have killed and biten children and adults also. It is the owners who treat these breeds badly and making the loving owners suffer is absolutly AWFUL!!!!

Comments: I do not believe (and in my 48 years of dog ownership never have owned one) in a naturally mean domesticated dog!! All dogs are born human lovers and have to be made vicious. I believe we should enable human dog ownership control legislation and not "provincial animal control legislation that is breed-specific". If you want to know the truth I trust any breed of dog much more than I trust 99.99999999999% of the humans I know!!!!

Comments: NONE of God's creatures should be banned. If they do show signs of aggession , their OWNERS need to be aware they need to watch them or do what needs to be done to keep people and children safe. NOT ALL PITBULLS ARE KILLER DOGS!!!! If this were the case, then the whole human race should be banned because there are a few murderers among us. Doesn't make sense. I was attacked and bitten in the face by a German Shephard as a child -- should they be banned too No. Stop stereotyping pitbulls. It isn't just them.
