The petition Summer 2007 Save North Park and Preserve our Community To the attention of City of Spanish Fork Mayor, Council members, Parks and Recreation Committee members, Retail Stores, Army Core of Engineering (Wet Lands division): We respectfully request that you carefully consider this attached petition (which can also be found on www.savethenorthpark.com) regarding the proposed construction of large retail businesses on the current site of Spanish Fork\'s North Park, officially the Ed Clark Recreational Complex Memorial. (See website for history of North Park/ Ed clark Memorial). City of Spanish Fork residents and taxpayers and surrounding communities will all have to deal with the consequences of this proposal, which will be: 1) increased traffic flow 2) Loss of a very spacious, peaceful and multi-use Park in the North end of town for a rapidly growing population with easy access for families, seniors, citizens and surrounding communities. 3) loss of small town atmosphere 4) breach of citizen property rights by forced relocation (many who are elderly) Ethics, good government, and the long term impact on Spanish Fork city and the lifestyle of our citizens require the voice of the people be heard.
