Robin | Pattullo | I live in eastern Ontario. There has been incidents of asian fishermen being chucked in the lake, some say racist motivated that may be, but I have seen bass, pike pickerel taken out of season & over limit, but there is no enforcement due to staff shortage in MNR This hurts all Ontario residents.Keep on fighting R Pattullo
Anonymous | Anonymous | Staffing cuts to MNR have been downright ridiculous ever since Mike Harris was in office.
Jocelyn | Torma | Ontario is quickly becoming one of the only places on the planet where such an abundance of natural wilderness exists. By funding its protection, you may be ensuring the sucess of the eco-tourism industry in future years. THIS IS A GOOD GOVERNMENT INVESTMENT! Spend a few dollars now to make a few once other wildernesses dwindle away for lack of funding.
Dinesh | Krishnakumaran | Save the MNR! Increase their budget!
| 119 | Anne | Yagi | Yes
We are an endangered species |
Laura | Moffatt | SAVE THE MNR!!!!
Michael | Gyemi | I have spent much time dealing with the MNR's private replacement at the various Provincial Parks I visist every year and I can tell you they are really mis-informed and really bad. They cater to their friends and relatives and it is very bad. Most don't even put back any real money into the parks to improve them. Many are run down and very badly managed. It is very clear that the MNR people have done a superior job over the years and my question is where are all those students in the forestry programs now going to get jobs at. Without the MNR it is only the private interest groups that will benefit and as with other agencies that this has happened to will increase the costs to everyone, especially the consumer. Shame1!!!!
Ken Two Dogs | fraser | Hi just to let you know I am a metis councilar for region 7 and I think we should support the M.N.R. because without them and the hard work they do even if its not as mutch as before do to cyt backs we would not have what we have today Two Dogs
Mariusz | Lyczek | Fully agree with the petition.
Anonymous | Anonymous | MNR needs more money so current staff don't burn out before retirement. It is very difficult watching natural resources decline in the hands of private industry and municipalities.
Anonymous | Anonymous | The MNR is an important part of wildlife conservation.
Tyler | Perrott | connservation officers need more money for gas in thier trucks to patrol
Sylvia | Reddom | Please answer the plea of these dedicated workers who represent not only the past and present inhabitants (Human and Animal and Resources) but those of our futures - let us make sure we have one -for all Ontarians.
Doug | Lennox | Agree totally that the MNR should be funded adequately
John | Miles | The effective management of our natural resources saves us money in the long term. We are all subject to the effects of humanity on it's environment. A public body that manages our resources and advicates on our behalf is a fundamental element in the balance between private interest and public good. The present focus on the reduction of consumption is not enough. We need a sustainable and well managed environment to exist in, and only a public body can achieve this. Fund this public body properly.
Lynda | Richardson | I worked for the MNR 85-90 and saw the beginning of privatization and job cuts - just gotten worse over the years.
