Save The Mayflower

194 Signatures Goal: 250

The Plymouth Argyle Board of Directors have decided to close the Mayflower Enclosure for next season, they want to save the £100,000 which is the cost of hiring the temporary seats per season. Fans who sat in this area now have to pay a minimum of an extra £85 to sit in another area of Home Park, an increase of 33%.

My proposal is to petition the club to keep the Mayflower open for one more season with fans paying an extra £2 a ticket per game to offset the costs of hiring the seats. The announcement of closing the Mayflower is, in my opinion, in such short notice for fans. So my proposal includes the proviso that one more season of using the Mayflower really will be the last and those fans will have to move to another part of Home Park for the 2011-2012 season. I am appealing to the Board of Directors to have a rethink, see sense, listen to the fans and keep the popular Mayflower open for one final season. I appeal to all Argyle fans to sign my petition, I am aiming for at least 1,000 signatures, and I will then forward this petition to the club Thank you. Steve Jones
