Comments: I will stop collecting ALL Marvel comics if they decide to go Ultimate. I haven't spent 20 years collecting the Avnegers, X-Men, and Spider-Man just to have all those stories taken away. Just remember the fan back-lash when DC killed their history with Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Comments: Marvel I suggest not starting all of the titles over again. Many fans would like to see some of your titles to have 3 digits. Oh and most importantly please consider bring Deadpool back. You ended it right when many more people were beginning to become fans. In a year or two or three just think about it...

Comments: This is a smack in the face of the writers & artists who made the MU what it is, a smack in the face of guys like Stan Lee & co, who basically INVENTED the MU, and worst of all, a smack in the face to the readers who've kept buying Marvel books for the past 60 years. Leave it alone, change things if you want, subtle alterations can be good..but don't scrap the whole thing to make it "Ultimate", that's just disgusting.

Comments: The "Ultimate" universe is an "alternate -- what if" universe.....period. If the powers that be are really stupid enough to make the Ultimate universe the mainstream, regular continuity.....Then there will most certainly not be any "what if" with regards to whether or not I'll be continuing, after almost 40 years of faithful readership, to purchase Marvel Comics. Some of the Utimate titles have decent storytelling.....None are even close, at their best, to the better, regular continuity titles........ It's a difficult situation, I realize......The business side of the comic book industry has gotten to the point of necessitating prostituting the "magic" in order to expand the coffers........ I hope things have not degenerated so far -- although it's seeming to be the case with each passing day's revelations, both small and big, of commentary, both reliable and questionable, from industry "suits" -- that it's come down to a choice between the Marvel Magic ( the kind of story telling that anyone who's been exposed to it knows what the term means ) and Marvel's money........ If it was just me....... I would just take a deep breath, hang my head and walk away, resigning myself to the idea that my time as a fan is no longer needed -- at least based on how myself, and the rest of the fans like myself, are being treated......But I have 2 young sons.......And I won't go away without a fight..... Just because a small segment of power brokers might make a very unwise decision doesn't mean that all of the creative men and women who've actually been the ones that have given us the Marvel Magic over the years are in agreement with them...... Devolution is not progress.....And the money that may pour in for a time because of it will eventually cease.....As will the paper thin, alhtough seemingly broad, fanbase it produces........ The Utlimate Universe will not give Marvel Comics a generation of fans that will still be fighting to keep it decades later, not just for themselves, but for the next generation that they've sired.....Not for the sake of nostaligia ( with regards to which there is nothing wrong ), but for the quality of the "magic" that has been tested and proven over the years...... Change is only good when it is good change......Change for the sake of change is only an experiment......and it is an experiment that almost always produces abject failure...... I hope the "ultimization" doesn't actually happen......As of now....and until it is a done deal......my sword is drawn, so-to-speak, and I'm ready for blood if necessary.... Kretzar' MMM ( for at least a while longer......)

Comments: I totally agree, as a matter of fact I have posted lengthy posts on both the Defenders and the Thunderbolts message boards about this. I think it is an easy way to dump all that's been before so they don't have to deal with the continuity issues. I don't want to see my favorite characters dumped and "replaced" with pathetic new versions of them! If this happens I will no longer be purchasing Marvel books.

Comments: I'm a long time fan of all things Marvel. The Marvel Universe connection is one of the things that got me hooked. The contignuity is already almost gone. If they can't fix it, or dump the whole lot... I'll be gone and only buy back-issues instead.

Comments: I've been reading Marvel Comics for 25 years. While I understand the need to change to suit the changing market, I feel this would ultimately be wrong. Producing quality comics means writing fresh, new stories and not rehashing the old ones for a new generation of readers.

Comments: NO WAY!!! Its been hard to get the storylines at the point they are now, please dont change this thing. how can you start over everything when artists like stan lee, jack kirby, steve ditko, etc struggled so hard to get there also there are many unsolved stuff that everyone wants to wait to see what happens or are u trying to do something ala age of apocalypse for a couple of months please dont let the universe we all know die. thanks

Comments: I agree with you, but I don't think this is going to happen. In is #134 of Wizard, Jemas states: "I've considered it [ultimatising all Marvel books] but wouldn't do it. One of the cornerstones of the new Marvel is understanding all of the different fan groups and target audiences and publishing a variety of books that give all of them what they want. 'Ultimatizing' the entire Marvel Universe would be inconsistent with that strategy, because it would fail to serve 'traditionalists.'" But if it is true, I agree with your stand.

Comments: I hate the new direction of comics (marvel and DC) the period of 1969 unitl about 1984 was the best. Bring back that style of art and telling stories. Look at how greats such as Spiderman, X-men, Avengers, Daredevil, Iron man, Hulk etc fared. That was the highlight of comic books. The Ultimates are AWFUL and so is the rest of the current way to tel stories.

Comments: The only thing that speaks for the ultimate line in the case of the X-men is that Colossus is still alive...other than that the Ultimate line should remain a side project at Marvel. And whats up with the goofy looking Beast in "New X-men"
