Name: Christopher Lawrence on Mar 31, 2010Comments: Shame on Dennisport for even considering such a proposal. Local business is what keeps Cape Cod alive, especially during the summer months. I have been vacationing on the Cape for over 15+ years. My wife and I have enjoyed numerous live events at the Improper Bostonian. The residents who have compained should be ashamed of themselves for even attempting to have such a negative impact on their community and their local small business footprint. Ther are many businesses in the Dennisport area which my wife and I frequent while on vacation and as such, I would hate for the voice of a few have an impact on the lives of many.Flag

It's even better when the new and old combine for such an awesome nightlife experience.Flag

Name: Michelle Giardino-Glanvill on Mar 31, 2010Comments: I'd love to change the air traffic patterns, but they were here first and they bring tourist, their dollars and tax on their dollars to our area. There is a term, "past practice" that is quite useful in negotiating contracts. Cape resident since 1970, with small hiatus due to education.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 31, 2010Comments: The Improper Bostonian has served for many years as one of the many bars on the list of Stonehill College's senior "Cape Week". I graduated in 2008 and I know Stonehill is not the only Massachusetts school whose students choose to frequent the cape (mainly Dennis/Dennisport) during this week before graduation - for both the beaches and the ability to rent houses, but also for the accomodating local entertainment venues. Removing the local bar scene from the equation will undoubtably force these students to look elsewhere for there "last hurrah" before graduating. The local bars and townspeople have accomodated these students for many years since the trip is during the off season when tourism in the area is low. Please don't make the mistake of taking away the Improper's ability to entertain. It is a slippery slope and soon there will be no nightlife and no entertainment in the area of Dennis for not only students, but also vacationers. I envision the cape turning into a summer hot spot for elderly snowbirds - who wants to vacation there??Flag

Name: Tara Lano on Mar 31, 2010Comments: The Improper is a well known local establishment. I lived in Dennisport a few summers ago and have since moved to NYC, and even here people have heard of The Improper and its famous Happy Hours. It would be a shame to lose such an important part of Cape Cod because of a few people that knew the area they were moving into.Flag

Name: Meghan Leonard on Mar 31, 2010Comments: I think it's a shame that in this economy people are looking to close opportunities for employment. When these neighbors who have problems with the establishment moved into their houses, did they not realize that they were moving in next to a bar. It seems idiotic to close an establishment that has been in business for 40 years because of cranky neighbors. Will these neighbors be paying the 25 staff members that will no longer be getting a paycheck if the Improper closes? Seems a bit selfish to me.Flag

Name: Lindsey Ruscak on Apr 1, 2010Comments: I have summered on the Cape for over 20 years. I have worked at the Taffy Stand on 28, Sam Diegos and as of last summer The Improper. Local Cape Cod establishments are what keep the Cape's economy thriving. Without The Improper, not only would Cape be losing valuable tourist dollars, the Cape would be losing tradition and a place where generations have come to enjoy and relax. While, I understand the licensing board is not completely revoking The Improper's license, what is is doing is cutting it's profitability at it's knees. Thus, making The Improper die a slow death. Please listen to the many voices who are trying to SAVE THE IMPROPER!!!!! Sincerely, Lindsey RuscakFlag

Name: Joe Mc Clure on Apr 1, 2010Comments: It would be detrimental to the musical community to remove another venue. If the parking lot is out of control, then the IB should be instructed to hire security for closing time. As for the serving of alcohol, one venue cannot be restricted while others in town are not. There have been enough failed businesses in that area, the town does not need to create another.Flag
