417 Thomas HoferThe Deutsches Haus is a historic monument within the city of New Orleans, and, as such, should remain where it has been since 1928. With all respect for the LSU medical faculty, it is reckless to even propose tearing down this historic site, just as it was reckless to even propose to tear down St. Joseph's Church (thank God, that did not succeed). I hope my comment will help preserve the Deutsches Haus.LA70121

426 Kim L Courtney BerchPlease preserve this National Treasure located in my hometown of New Orleans, LA. My father Cy David Francis Courtney, Esq. now deceased and a veteran (WWII and Korea) would want this landmark saved in its entirety! My most memorable Oktoberfests were spent here! Thank You! Kim L. 427 Thomas HoferI had already once signed the petition to save the Deutsches Haus, but again submit my name and E-mail in support of this worthy cause. The Deutsches Haus MUST remain on its current site, as it is a valuable piece of history for all of New Orleans. Moreover, I find it reprehensible that the LSU Medical Center intends to destroy historic sites just so that it can expand. I recall that they tried that with St. Joseph's Church; fortunately, that failed. The Deutsches Haus must also be preserved.LA70121

437 PATRICK HUGHESIt seems to me it would be a compliment to and an asset of the hospital to have it there and functioning. Ich lieben Deutschland. Don;t we all need Schnitzel and Spatzle?LA70815
438 Robert CarverAs a historian I realize that The Deutsches Haus is more than just a social club for interested local citizens. Deutsches Haus is the last landmark left in the city of New Orleans that honors the vibrant German history of this region. Given the great effort to rebuild this historic site after the devastating flood damage caused by Katrina, it would be criminal to destroy it now under the guise of "progress." The plans for the new medical complex can be modified to keep The Deutsches Haus going as a vital contributer to the future culture of this region while continuing to honor our German heritage.LA70121

445 Robert S LoupAs a 14 year resident of Germany and a Katrina surviving native of New Orleans, It is important that this treasure remain in place for the Medical Center as a cultural example of excelence, spirit, and fun which cannot be ignored in the presence of the Medical Centers mission.LA70003
446 markdo not destroy the deutsheshaus. work it out so there is a hospital and this long time establishment..
447 Sandra MatherneAs an American of German descent, I think the hospital should pay the cost of moving and restoring the Deutsches Haus if it cannot be preserved in its present location.LA70130
