566 Jolie PreauIt would be a crime, in my opinion, to bulldoze all the work and investment that the people of the Deutsches Haus have put into remaining in post-Katrina New Orleans. These are just the people and places we need to offer extra support to in the city.LA70119

570 Janet KitiyakaraIt is unacceptable to destroy the Deutcheshaus, a landmark that is part of the unique fabric of this city, as well as other historic neighborhoods, for the sake of building an expensive "pie in the sky" medical facility. This grandiose plan will serve to build up the egos of politicians and operators who will also undoubtedly make sure that their cronies will get a slice of the undoubtedly embellished costs as profits to go into their pockets. What we need is a good basoc facility to take care of the needs of the citizens and its visitors, and we need it quickly, not many years down the road.LA70119

575 dorothy NebelHaving married into an old german family in New Orleans I feel this is an important part of the N.O. culture. Much is made of the Italian, French and Spanish contributions but the German community had a strong influence on the melting pot culture of N.O. and should not be forgotten or minimized.LA70433

596 Garland C. OgdenI w ish to express great concern as to the fate of the Deutsches Haus. No one has explained or bothered to tell the pubic what the plans are for this establishment. The Germans of New Orleans have made fine contributions to this fair City, and i would hate for yet another Old Land Mark be destroyed by political correctness, or people with agendas! Please make every effort to preserve this place, as it is a reflection of what makes New Orleans so great; the mixture of truly international scale!LA70005
