Bill RoussarieI am a ex-pat German New Orleanian. Save the Haus!GA30062
Natalie SchultzPlease do not tear down the Haus! Why destroy a cultural and educational institution that survived Hurricane Katrina? Too many historic landmarks are torn down in this country with no regard to the consequnces until it is too late. The Haus survived the storm - there is NO REASON to destroy a survivor. You can very easily design the hospitals around the Haus; nothing is set in stone until the first block is laid. Do not unnecessarily destroy to create!NY11718

Kay WernerThis attempt to eliminate the German heritage from New Orleans cannot be tolerated. We are also a minority that is proud of our heritage and cannot let them tear the haus down, or move it. Our forefathers gathered in that location. It is historically significant. It must be preserved.LA70115
Brian WernerI agree with my sister, Kay. Our culture deserves to be treated with the same respect as others.NM87105

Colleen BilliotDeutsches Haus is an intergral part of our city's culture as are the memories of the German men and women who helped shaped New Orleans into the vibrant and varied city it is today. Destroying Deutsches Haus should never have come under consideration.

Carol WiewiorowskiMy family has enjoyed Oktoberfest at the Deutsches Haus for many years. Our children enjoy bringing their friends along, and we all have fun doing the chicken dance together. Please don't take this beloved gathering place away from those of us who cherish it. Thank you.LA70131

Alisa Hock BrierreIt is truly a sad day when people can not find a way to work around such a wonderful New Orleans landmark. Our city is about the rich traditions of all of the cultures. This establishment has been here for to long to just disregard. Shift the foot print of the buildings to allow the Haus to continue its important role in our city.
LizDeutscheshaus is an excellent way to celebrate the Germanic history of New Orleans while offering avid German students a chance to learn more about the German culture and practice their language. Deutscheshaus rocks!!!

katrina cairnsTo Whom It May Concern, I am a Nola native who is also a veteran. I would like to see a comprise in this situation. I recognize the value of a new hospital, but our history with the Deutsches Haus must be preserved. Lets incorporate the Haus with the Hospital. Or let the hospital move somewhere else in Orleans parish.LA70114

Claudia S. CopelandThe hospital and Deutsches Haus can coexist, and actually would be complementary! Please do not demolish this New Orleans cultural gem.LA70117
burkenstock, Harold L.german heritage and culture in new orleans and surrounding areas must be preserved for the future of our children so that our history does not just fade awayLA70118
Brandi A. NewmanThis is a cultural and histical place well worth saving. Please do all that you can to ensure the safety of this building and organization.LA70810
Lauren TarantinoI have been going to Deutches Haus for years. It holds some of the best memories of my grandparents and family as we celebrated Octoberfest each year. It would be a tragedy to see it gone.LA70131

Amy Streckfus BrysonMy family has been going to events at the house for 3 generations. My great grandfather purportedly helped to build it. It would bedevastating to let such a treasure go. It should bepreserved at any cost as I feel a moved haus will not be quite the same and a blow to New Orleans culture, of which too many pieces have already blown away or have been carelessly mowed down after Katrina. The Haus has done so much for the City and its citizens that it deserves to be revered.LA70123
