473 Toby GarrettMy family and I have been going to the Deutsches Haus for roughly ten years now and have found it to be one of the only places that offers a family friendly atmosphere for adults and children. Families get to enjoy great music, homemade meals, and great beer. There was another place like this that closed called O'Flaherty's and with that being gone since Katrina, the Haus is surely one of the last remaining histroical institutions of its kind that we must preserve for present and future generations.LA70471
474 Gretchen CaillouetAfter hearing the presentation today at the LA Folksore Society meeting, the Deutscheshaus is a very important and vibrant facility and group in New Orleans and needs to stay and continue its positive efforts to our citizens!LA70301

476 Marcus SteinfeldsThe Deutsches Haus is a precious and cherished institution of New Orleansthat should not be demolished just because a civic planner has failed to recognize its cultural contribution to this amazing city. With all the vacant space in the central city area, surely there must be an alternate plan that can ensure the survival of the Deutsches Haus that will not interfere in the development of the proposed medical district.LA70117

480 Cindy HutchinsWhy not build where Charity was?I haven't been to New Orleans since Katrina, but weren't they tearing it down?It makes sense, put the new hospitals where to old one's were. Deutsches Haus is a landmark in New Orleans, hasn't your city lost enough already, don't destroy this legendary building!!FL32504
481 Margaret McLellanI love the Deutsches Haus! Now that it has been restored, it is looking better than ever. This is an important part of New Orleans culture and it should be protected.LA

485 Robert Brian LevySave the Haus, for sure, and move all salvageable older homes from the area to lots in other areas such as Gentilly and Lakeview and the Upper and Lower Ninth. Our city cannot afford to lose anymore of its heritage. We need the hospitals, but can't it work around the Deutsches Haus and the old Dixie Brewery, while as mentioned, moving most of the older, irreplaceable homes from the area to other lots in other parts of town?LA70117

490 AnonymousI think it would a great loss to New Orleans and its history to lose Deutsches Haus. My father used to attend festivities there and I went there several times while attending Tulane. Only place like it in New Orleans.FL32503
