DickMarquisCAfirst... Why are there only united states when this hospital is in my city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada? This hospital has been a reading spot to me since I was 11 years old. Why is the Don Jail a historical landmark; a building I donnot consider to be proud of. And yet, they want to destroy this beautiful hospital and landscape for a condo? I dont' know what whoever came up with this brilliant idea is smoking, but I want some!

RONWILLIAMSCAtoronto doesn't need more condos, there is currently a glut of empty units, save the hospital, save our architecture. One another note how about changing the above information entry form to include PROVINCES
lisaharmeyCA'Tabula Rasa' as means of operating in development has long been discredited. State of the art in this area requires that you do not demolish a building such as this. Such a move places the perpetrator outside of the culture that underpins society.
JamieSauderCADon't let developers ruin our modern heritage just like they ruined our victorian heritage in the 50's and 60's.

AnonymousAnonymousCAMy father received excellent treatment at RDH in 2002, I would hate to see it go. If we have to tear something down to build condos, tear down something crap, not a historically significant bldg.

RonIngelevicsCAIt is an iconic building. My grandfather spent time there in the 60's. Driving down the DVP, you just expect it to be there providing a southern anchor to the wide expanse of Riverdale Park East. Save this building!
DeannaSt.CroixOHCAWhy tear down a beautiful park in our city? Shameful. Business can build condos elsewhere, after all, its not as if the market isn't already flooded with these monstrosities. Save Riverdale.
AnonymousAnonymousDon't raze the city's history!

VidIngelevicsThis building is an irreplaceable part of the modernist heritage of Toronto. We have already lost too much from this era in this city.

GordonCrannCAAn architectural landmark, the Half-Round must be saved. Shame on Toronto City Council.
AnonymousAnonymousCAThis building is magnificent and the quality of modernist detail is certainly the best I've seen of that period in Toronto. It is always a pleasure to visit such a beautiful building with its uniquely interesting spatial environment - of which there are scant few left given Toronto's history. I applaud your efforts - it was the community's collective efforts that saved Spadina/the Annex, Trefann Court and Cabbagetown from rapacious redevelopment - not the elected officials or administration. As a planner, I'm for JUDICIOUS intensification and this project doesn't meet that criterion. It has not been well thought through and too much of what is important to our community and in our community has been traded off to private interests. Shame on Paula Fletcher and David Miller - both of whom I have voted for in the past - for their political expediency and carelessness with urban form.
judithblackmanCAAs a resident of Cabbagetown just across the Don River from Riverdale Hospital, I have grown to love the half round, with its exquisite setting and view. To destroy 50 trees in the park in the face of the on-going efforts at tree planting with Bring Back the Don seems at best unthought-out, and at worst irredeemable mischief and destructive. Please keep the half round. Judith Blackman, 259 Carlton St, To M5A2L4

MarilynFlakCAI can't believe that City Council has such a complete disregard for Toronto's historically significant properties. So much of this city's rich architectural history has been leveled during the last century. It is up to us as citizens to defend our public spaces and insist that great care and consideration be made in developing public spaces to avoid the humdrum contemporary architecture and urban design errors of the late 20th century. It is vital that citizens insist on preserving places of architectural and historical significance for future generations of Torontonians. Development should not always be about money and commercialism, but rather about creating and maintaining an urban landscape that has aesthetic, environmental and practical functions. This building and area must be saved.

GerardMaynardCAThis Bridepoint deal has been going on for over 5 years now. I use to live in the Toronto housing aparment building in front of Bridgepoint. It turns out that Bridgepoint wanted the property because they claimed they need a bigger lane way. Five years later an now I find out they really wanted to build a condo! 247 EricMillsCondos? Schmondos. There's lots of vacant space in downtown Toronto, including vast acres of parking lots, that should be built on before trees are cut down and cityscape buildings destroyed.
