Name: Eileen Choron on Mar 29, 2011Comments: It is shocking that in 2011 a girls varsity sport is singled out to be slashed. I sincerely hope that the Title IX representative is actively pursuing this matter and that the school district of Pelham will change course and make sure to fund this sport. It only adds prestige to your district to have female athletes complete at such a high level as State Qualifiers and State Championships.Flag

Name: Anneliese Turck on Mar 29, 2011Comments: What good high school doesn't have a women's swim team? Are you kidding me? You cut athletics--and a sport that is both a collegiate and Olympic sport--and you'll cut out something that makes a school strong and allows students to learn THE VALUE of competition, teamwork and practice--skills they need in life. It allows them to show pride, confidence in themselves, stick out above others and overall brings the kids together. We pay enough taxes that we should NOT have to send out kids to swim privately.Flag

Name: Priscilla Xu MD on Mar 30, 2011Comments: Swimming is one of the best sports which provides life time fitness. It has low impact and causes less injuries to young atheletes. We should encourage more and more of our young generations to participate in this sports. We want to see our PMHS Girls Varsity Swim Team to grow bigger, not to go asunder. The budget cut should be evenly and propotionally applied to every sports.Flag
