Katie WelshIn light of the historical significance of the houses and street scape of the area and the current environmental impact of vehicles, I think that alternatives, like increased public transport might be a better option...will more vehicles continue to use the road with the ever increasing price of fuel if they have good reliable transport in the local area.

AnonymousIts my favourite house in Bardon please don't destroy it. I use to walk along there when I was younger imaging who lived there and that the statues would come alive after dark. Please don't take that away from other children

Nicole TaitI have lived in Brisbane now for about 7 years and ever since I discovered this house I have been intrigued. It is places like this that make a city interesting, that keep people interested in things outside of themsleves and that enrich us with its history. It would be a crying shame to lose such a piece of history and beauty. I do not want to see the Fairy House destroyed and would love instead to see it preserved!!!!

Robert LewisI just have moved to brisbane in april. Two weeks a ago i was catching bus the to a friends place and i saw this fairy house through the window and just fell in the love with it. i walked past it to have a closer look and i just couldn't belive how beautiful and peacefull it look. And i thought to myself how lucky would you be to live in such a wonderfull setting. It really is something from a fairytale. I just think of peter pan. This place is a rare dimond and it should should be treasured. This is what we need in this world. I am saddend that this might be torn down. so i will join in the fight to save this little treasure.
malcolm stekhoven-smithAs a frequent visitor to Brisbane, and Bardon in particular, I often noticed this very special building and thought how it adds a wonderful diversity to the architectural heritage of the area. Don't let's lose what can't be replaced!
AnonymousThis is like a story book Gingerbread House for the kids.
Albert LexingtonI pass this amazing house on the bus every morning and afternoon, and have done so for the past 8 years. I've always thought it to be a very intriguing design for a home and thought of how cool it would be to live somewhere like that. Please don't knock it down, it's a true icon to the area!
jgreenplease stop the continaul degrading of the built environment in Brisbane for the expanding use of the motor car/big truck expressway that the Main Roads seems hell bent on.Let us provide adequate public transport and stop becomming LA! I love the fairy house and pass it quite often crossing to Ashgrove. LEAVE IT ALONE. THIS IS JUST A HIDDEN REPLAY OF ROUTE20, this time by stealth. Destroy the amenity for the local residents so they will be only to happy to leave. NO NO NO
AnonymousFar too many fabulous old things are being torn down in Brisbane - this one must stay - do something now before it is too late. It is no good complaining about other wonderful things that have already gone - save the future.
Jill GoddardAs longterm resident of the inner west I am appalled at the plans for the future of our general area. The Fairy House going would be yet another nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned.
YvonneThe fairy house was built by my uncle, Greg Meek.He designed and/or built other significant buildings. eg He designed Cloudland and designed and built the Finicular which people remember going up to Cloudland. The house is the one remaining structure of his in Brisbane. The rest were demolished by the Deen Brothers! After selling the house he was welcomed in the US as a significant architect! The house was also the first to be approved by the BCC which had 3 storeys under the one roof. Shame on those again choosing to demolish his work!
jeremy davisSave this house! there are plenty of other places for roads
AnonymousI have driven past this sweet little house since I was a small child and have always been enchanted by the steep little roof and the wonderful little figurines. As a child, I thought it was a doorway into magical lands. It inspired many wonderful childhood dreams and stories. Please allow the younger generations to have their imaginations stimulated by the same inspiration.
AnonymousPlease keep this local icon. My children have grown up passing this house and telling stories about the fairies who live there - it's good to believe!
