Aili JordanPlease don't knock down the Fairy House!
Anne MurrayThis house is a significant part of Brisbane history. Never should transport issues be able to interfer with this sort of thing. Building wider roads or more roads does not reduce the traffic congestion but rather increases the number of users and decreases the number of people who would otherwise just use public transport or go another way. As planners members of the Brisbane City Council should have information re this in many research papers. I completed a Master Of Urban and Regional Planning some years ago and it was well documented then. The area of Brisbane involved in this decision is well suited to increasing the population use of public transport and shanks pony. Try not to perpetuate the mistake that is constantly achieved by BCC where the demands of a few transport problems overwhelms the rights of others ie residents of an area or those wishing to enjoy the history and attractiveness of Brisbane's culture.
Barbara HeathI have passed this property on my way to and from work every day for at least the last 20 years. Please consider all possible options to allow this house and it's fence to stay.
AnonymousBrisbane needs to retain its heritage and distinctive architecture, not destroy it.

Anna GerardSurely there are better options. What happens in another 20 years when we need to widen the road even more?
Cassie SmithEnough is enough! We saw so much of this with the upgrade of the Ipswich Motorway. As our friend from Gailes said - Remember "The Castle" ! Life is NOT about commuting. It has very much to do with where you lay your hat, and put down your roots, and where you create your HOME.
Russell O'ReillyI find this propased plan to widen the road rediculous and a mere short term fix! Why couldnt a tunnel be put in place uner the existing road allowing free traffic flow an erasing a scary roundabout in the process WITHOUT TEARING PEOPLES HOMES AWAY FROM THEM!!?
kat ogilvielet's look at some more sustainable solutions to this problem - invest in public transport, redirect traffic, help people to maintain their houses and the history of the area. no to this proposal which will result in people losing their homes and the area losing some beautiful buildings part of the history.

Bernice WhittenIn a time when Brisbane is suffering an extreme housing crisis, any plans to resume existing and cherished houses seems ill thought out. Traffic issues in Bardon have long been an issue and other solutions should be canvassed
AnonymousAnother example of councils "paying off" development companies by buying roads that nobody wants.

Philippa CominoTo whom it may concern: Please preserve the quirky character of Brisbane's architecture by preventing the resumption of the 'Snow White House' on Macgregor Terrace at Bardon. We don't want Brisbane to join the many homogeneous cities which prevent the individual expression of those who live in them. Yours sincerely, Philippa Comino
Esther NienaberPlease do not get rid of this house. Its part of Brisbane history. A family lives there. It has sentimental value and the owner's mother (my sister) died in her bed in this house

Elaine WatsonI have known this house and landmark for many, many years. The house has such an incredible history and represents Brisbane's celebrated past. Surely there has to be other options. If we keep destroying all the old buildings, then you may as well say Brisbane has lost its soul. Every city in Europe for instance treasures its old buildings. This house is irreplaceable and has always been an icon for passers by. I do not live in Brisbane but nevertheless cannot imagine driving past without being able to see such a beautiful house that has such a romantc past.
MarkI can't believe you want to get rid of this house, it's ridiculous!!!

Kylie WallisSave the fairy house!!!!!
Monique BondTo the Members of the Queensland Parliament, It is a great mistake to keep widening the roads in Brisbane and straightening them. All this achieves is faster through-traffic, less incentive for people to cycle or walk, and a general incentive for motor vehicles. Planning for tomorrow means planning for a time with fewer cars and lorries on the road, more use of trains and even mono-rails. Do not waste millions of dollars on the roadwidening project and do not demolish 28 houses in order to widen a road in a time of acute housing shortages in Brisbane, Monique Bond
Leonard Nicivery unusual well known house-we need to keep all the character we can !!!
david stephensRoads are not the solution ideas are. The Joh days are over, we are much more mature now.

Ann MatsonPlease - surely we have the capacity as the Smart State to come up with alternatives to the destruction of not only a family home but a piece of local history.

Melissa PageProgress is fine as long as it's used with some common sense too.
sandra beaumont
Phil ParkerProgress is important, but let's not destroy the things that make Brisbane such a great place to live
Victoria HenryThis house is is truly unique and deserves to be preser ved. Surely the proposed tunnel will take care of much of the traffic that is currently using MacGregor?Jubilee Terrace.

Annie DwyerI lived in Paddington in the 70's and 80's and, whenever I went past the Fairy House, I yearned to live in it and, today, would still be more than happy to live there. Please do not destroy this icon.

nicoleI am a local resident, and i have always been intrigued and delighted by this building. PLEASE DON'T KNOCK IT DOWN!!!
Samantha TaylorIt irrational to destroy history, community, memories and architecture all for one extra lane of traffic in a 'short-term' traffic planning fix. Brisbane has had enough demolition over its eons- all of which are bemoned; please dont make the same mistake by destroying any of the houses along Jubilee/ Macgregor Tce- in particular the Fairy House.
Constance Merryweatherplease save the fairy house
Tracy McKenzieI have loved this house since I was a little girl & used to catch the bus outside it on my way to Bardon Primary School!
Stacey KazilierisI used to live in 18 mcgregor tce up until 6 months ago, if this proposal goes ahead it would be very sad
