It deserved to be promoted and to have creative attention on it intensified, not to be cancelled! Why does DC need the Doom Patrol and why do we need Doom Patrol? Because Doom Patrol is one of the few series that went beyond formula and marketing and potential repackaging in other media genres like film or television. Doom Patrol tells us who are right now, pushing beyond the boundaries.Flag

To cancel this title merely to flood the market with yet another Superman/Batman/GL title is a travesty and is just one more nail in the coffin of the direct sales market and the LCS. If all they carry are the aforesaid 3 titles plus X-Men/Spider Man/Avengers, then why bother?Flag

The Doom Patrol is my favorite team, so I hope DC will choose to continue the current run. Get them off of Oolong Island, mix them up with some of the proper DC heroes. I still remember Grant Morrison's "Painting That Ate Paris" storyline. The Justice League is hanging around, unsure what to do because a painting swallowed an entire city, when the Doom Patrol wander onto the scene. "Step aside heroes! This is something so weird only the Doom Patrol can handle it." THAT'S what DC should be doing with this team. Make them relevant and give them yet another shot to save the world.Flag

I've always been proud of DC's achievements and reputation for bringing something different to the table, but by cancelling the Doom Patrol, you're becoming as stale and as boring as your competition. Doom Patrol was *THE* book I looked forward to each month. Giffen and Clark have done great work, bringing a unique and entertaining read each month, while also pay respect to the DP's long and strange history. Don't do this, DC. If variety is the spice of life, then Doom Patrol was the spiciest comic book out there. And I need that spice!!Flag
