AnonymousAs a small child I would notice the white domes above the trees and to think that this may all be gone one day is a very sad state of affairs. We must keep our greenspaces and hertige at all costs

lynda sutherlandNEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER FELT SUCH PURE MAGIC AS WHEN STROLLING THE GROUNDS OF THE DAVID DUNLAP OBSERVATORY, IN MY EYES IT WOULD BE A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY TO DESTROY IT NOT ONLY FOR OURSELVES BUT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. PLEASE PROTECT THIS GIFT.
AnonymousPlease make the right decision. This is, after all, the International Year of Astronomy.
tSuch A shame!!! my kids talk to their friends all over the world about this place. Now they will turn into CONDOS? how far does greed reach? Do the city fathers think this good for us? i know it is all about the money!! SAHME!!

AnonymousBy developing this historic site, we are not only killing the beauty and serenity that we get to enjoy, but we destroy thousands of historical tress. Please do not let this happen

Adam PiotrowiczI go here almost every day with my dog. I see many, many deer every time I go to the observatory grounds, and I believe it is morally wrong to destroy one of the only large animal habitats in the GTA. The animals in these area will have nowhere to go, and will likely become roadkill as a result.
Alecia Price
Ella SzaboIt seems an incredibly short-sighted, greedy act to sell this land and observatory to developers. There is no regard for history or for the serious need to retain green spaces in a sea of land-wasting box stores and ever-expanding suburbia. The land has become an oasis for both humans and the creatures who live within. The epidemic destruction of habitat in the GTA/southern Ontario cannot be brushed off lightly. I implore U of T to seriously reconsider this move.
AnonymousToronto should worry more about preserving our historical sites, than building new condos.
Kaveh KhazraMy lot backs onto the Observatory land and for years my family has enjoyed the serenity it spreads. While eating, we sometimes watch deer and other wildlife run through free, without any threat of outside influence. It will be a shame to get rid of such rare beauty not enough communities are able to experience. There is no price you can put on that!
Kehan LariveeEven though ive never been to the Dunlap observatory i still believe that is should be saved because its one less eye scanning the night sky.
Michael Walker
Joseph IglesiasI fell that with the shortage of Observatories and the speed by which we are increasing our light pollution on this planet, it is VERY important to keep any of these structures up and running.

AnonymousIt is always sad when money takes a stand in front of intellect. I guess people are afraid of learning. It is a sad day when things like this happen and the people responsible for such an act should be put in a jail and never let out, they should be considered criminals to civilization.
Nancy KrampfThis must be saved for the next generation

Robin CrowderIt would be an environmental SIN not to protect the David Dunlop Observatory. Heritage, scientific history and the environment in one location. Not many other places can boast such a feat.

Aspen SciulliI am a somewhat longtime resident of richmond hill, and when I have not lived here, I have always come back to enjoy this wonderful space we know as Dunlop Observatory. I now have 2 daughter both born in R.Hill, to whom I wish to teach the historical value of their town! PLEASE CANCEL THE SALE! Thank you!

Peter DimitrakopoulosIn an enlightened society, such historical and scientificaly significant structures would be preserved for posterity. A place where future generations can somehow connect with the past, and learn to appreciate the vast universe of which we are a part of. How can an institution of higher learning dismiss David Dunlop Observatory as nothing more than a commodity to be sold off for a prifit. Shame on the U of T for being so short sighted.
Alex LikhtermanStop pillaging now!
richard nishikawaIt would be a tragidy to destroy this land with more urban sprawl.
