3 Stephanie AgostaWhat will happen to all the wildlife? I don't even want to imagine this area without the small patches of green space left. We need this space!
4 Sarah SadavoyIt will be a big shame if the DDO ends up like the McLaughlin Planetarium. Is this really the message the GTA wants to make? That science should be placed on the back burner?
5 Derek Thorsellthis is a land mark for the town of richmond hill where i was born and raised. i have watched richmond hill lose a lot of its history just to build houses. this cannot happen!

22 John David MitchellI grew up in Richmond Hill, and the DDO and the surrounding land is one of the few conservation sites left. It would be a travesty to turn it into a plaza, condo, or Shopper's Drug Mart; whatever they have planned for the site. Let's save what we got while we still can. John.

28 Stephanie RitchiThe observatory has been a staple part of my life. I have lived behind it since I was born and it has always been something that appreciated and adored. Just the thought of them developing the land makes me sick. It is so full of widelife that isn't seen anywhere else in Richmond Hill. I feel that by developing it, it would be a great injustice to the people of Richmond Hill, and for future generations to come. There is already too much traffic in Richmond Hill as it is, and by adding more houses were are just contributing the already increasing amount of pollution in the air that we breathe. We need to have an area in our town where we can go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the observatory offers just that. By having something so special like the observatory, it puts Richmond Hill on a higher pedestel then our neighbouring towns. Can Aurora, Vaughn, Markham, Toronto etc, say that they have 190 acres of untouched forestry filled with wildlife such as deer, fox, owls, hawks etc. ? By developing and selling the land, we are not only killing the beauty and serenity that we get to enjoy, but we are killing helpless animals and thousands of historical tress. This can't be allowed to happen!
29 Caroline GutmanWhile I fully understand the University of Toronto's need to sell at least part of the land to earn income, I absolutely think the Town should do everything in its power to preserve the observatory itself, if not the whole property, for the value of the greenspace and the historical significance of the place.

36 AnonymousI live 5 minutes from the Observatory and have always loved that there was natural open space nearby. More importantly my first visit to the DDO was one of the most exhilerating experiences of my life that I will cherish forever. A chance to peer into the heavens, and to further knowledge, that is not something that can be auctioned off.
37 Blair HodgsonThis is appauling. Preserve the limited greenspace remaining. Think with your heads and not your wallets... Please reconsider.

42 Anonymousplease save it.. or move it to somewhere with less light pollution
43 ZammarFor the good of science, save this facility.
44 Nicole MichalchukI used to go on nice nature walks through the observatory with friends since I moved to Richmond Hill in 1995. If it's gone, you know what is going to replace it. Condos! Everyone knows that Richmond Hill has enough condos and houses, and not enough widelife (or even grass for that matter). Don't take away that last bit of nature from us!

46 Siobhan BeattyThe DDO is part of Richmond Hill. It would be a tragedy to tear down such an important part of the town's history! We don't need more development!!

50 BrendaI think it would be great if we had a space like High Park in Toronto where everyone can enjoy it and not only a select few. I realize there is allot of money involved, and allot of money to be made from this, but although Richmond Hill promotes that it has many parks, but none like in Mississauga where you can walk from one park to another without always having to cross roads or going through subdivisions.
