Anonymous | Are there no other alternatives? Think priorities have to be set right, either look for an easy way out which causes the irreversible, or view long-term and preserve some greenery for the future generations.
Kelvin Low | Its a pity that the younger generations may have to travel overseas for the countryside exprience..

Marijke | RESPECT please! for nature and it's inhabitants! It takes more than a generation's lifetime to grow back what is so swiftly demolished. There'll be longterm regret about short term solutions.

Lee Wen Hui | We have to save the countryside! Please do not destroy anymore trees and land, and the efforts of the farmers to cultivate this countryside, Singapore needs these natural areas because we don't want to lose our roots, we cannot lose what makes us unique, a city amidst the gardens and untamed nature and small pockets of countryside!

| 1124 | Anonymous | Government sector, especially for a small country as Singapore should be more proactive in considering
developing intensive farming practice. |
Robin Low |
Jason Lai | The farms in Kranji may be small scale, but it does not mean they should be denied their right to exist. The government should start taking public feedback more seriously and rethink the site for a granite stockpile. I sincerely hope the state will refrain from decimating what little pockets of greenery we have left.
Anonymous | Whatever we do now has an impact on the next generation. I think we must not take a short term view and take the easy way out. Anybody can make an easy decision, I'm sure the highly-paid folks up/out there can do better...:-)

Yang Ting Ting | Leave some space for the next generation
Sherene | Singapore is fast becoming a brick-and-mortar city with sprouts of cultivated vegetation to create the pseudo image of a garden city. Please spare Kranji Countryside from the iron clasps of development. We need more greenery in our lives!
Goh Wilson | Honestly, is there really no better arrangement?

lim lay hoon | we are saving the earth and going green please do not set a polluted foot onto these greenaries, why are we doing to hurt it??
| 1135 | Emilyn Teo | Please preserve this beautiful countryside in Singapore.
My family, especially young children loves to come by on weekends to enjoy the unspoilt greenery in this area. |

Anonymous | Love the countryside away from building and noise.
Anonymous | Try to keep this piece of land for our little love ones. This is place where little ones can have many others kind of experience in life.
Florns Seng | I wonder if the people in our government has children of their own. Don't they want the best for their children too? Or has their children grown up and don't need such excursion? What is second best to nature? I would like to bring nature to my child. Please reconsider to store the granite elsewhere eg. Tekong or other unused islands where it is not easily accesible to normal people with kids like us.

Denise Johnson | I have visited Singapore with my family on two seperate occasions for lengthy holidays over the Xmas period, I was so impressed at the beautiful gardens, landscapes and views I saw during my visit. You must do all you can to preserve the natural beauty of the island and keep the spirit of Singapore alive forever.
Mar Kheng Kok | We should not sacrifice the nature in the name of development. The sand/granite shortage of singapore can be solved using other means. There is no lack of islands in singapore to use for storage purpose, why Kranji ?
Lee Van How | The govt shall not dump building materials on land at Kranji countryside or use it as storage.
rong en | please save the countryside....it provied hours of joy and enjoyment and its very valuable

Siah Christina | We do not have many such natural places/habitats left in Singapore. Having such a hectic lifestyle, it is very nice to sometimes be able to "escape" into the countryside to relax. These places are also great for encouraging the children to have lessons outside the classrooms.
Neo Ching Leong |
Yong Kim Bee | I go very often to buy green and fresh vegetables and also to the goat farm for milk. I will be very disappointed if this precious piece of green land disappear from Singapore. The government always preach about clean and green environment then show us that you mean it.
